We ended the Year in style!

"What we learnt through the exhange with JRYC!"

It was a beautiful afternoon of Sunday, 13th May, 2018 when Japan Rwanda Youth Cooperation, Rwandan side organized an event to celebrate the end of the academic year of 2017-2018.

JRYC-Rwandan side members at Huye campus showed up to welcome the visitors who were expected to come from different locations to celebrate with us.

Visitors who joined the event were the delegation of Japanese students who are currently in exchange program at PIASS: Kohei Sato, Ayumu Uchida, Yuki Tajima, and Hiromi Oneda.

Apart from those, we had the privilege to be with a representative of OBs/OGs Miss Nadia Niyonizeye, a representative of JRYC members who study in UR Nyarugenge campus, Mr. Leandre Berwa, and another special visitor, a former coordinator of JRYC-Japanese side and a current intern in Rwanda, Miss Asuka Mizuguchi.

His speech was followed by self-introduction by every individual who attended the event.

This process helped everyone to feel at home and the mood of friendship enlightened the conference room.

On the agenda, we had a couple of presentations to be made by both of the members of JRYC and the visitors. The theme of the day was “What we learnt through the exchange with JRYC

The first presentation was from the Delegation of Japanese students doing their exchange program at PIASS, they delivered a very interesting presentation entitled “Intercultural experience in Rwanda”, which was focused on their daily activities related to what they study relating them to exchange of culture, peace and conflict resolution.

There was a time for questions and answers time where the audience asked questions regarding the presentation and the presenters clearly answered them all.

Next was a  presentation by the JRYC members from Huye campus: Lucky Barahebuza, Gloria Uwamahoro, Emmanuel Niyonzima, and Joyce Uwiduhaye. Two of them (Joyce and Emmanuel) are new members who shared their motivations to join JRYC and how they are realizing their expectations so far in the club. And the other two are members of the club for many years and they shared their insights on what were their expectations before joining the club and what has been their experience over the past couple of years as active JRYC members.

This amazingly interactive presentation was concluded with questions and answers session as it had happened for the former presentations.

Next, we heard a very breathtaking presentation from our guest Asuka, she presented about different insights she has been noticing during her stay in Rwanda, shared her experience of being a leader in JRYC-Japan side, and gave an interesting quiz related to her presentation. It was awesome!

The audience asked her some questions to further their understanding about her presentation and she took her time to answer all questions very well.

Last but not Least, were the presentations from both Nadia and Leandre who shared their experience of having been able to be in JRYC-Rwandan side committee during their time at the campus, experience gained and lessons from exchange through JRYC especially when they attended the 15th Conference that took place in Japan. They emphasized on the point of keeping our cooperation intact and always strive to its advancement.
